Each quarter the Valley Bank Employees Give Back Committee from the Customer Service Team at Valley Bank selects a project as a way for employees to give back to the community.  The last quarter of 2013, we selected The Salvation Army as our bank-wide holiday project. Employees were able to give back in three different ways to the Salvation Army.

On Saturday, December 7th, 22 employees and spouses volunteered as Salvation Army bell ringers from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bonsack Kroger!  It was a very successful day for bell ringing!  At the end of the day the Valley Bank Bell Ringing Team handed Captain Argot two very full red kettles.

Valley Bank employees also participated in the Forgotten Angel Toy Drive by filling six very large boxes full of fun toys, games, balls, dolls and other items for the children of our area!  All of these donated items were used for the "angels" who were not selected from one of the Salvation Army Angel Trees or who were selected, but gifts were not returned for them.

Finally, we had  39 employees and family members volunteer at the Salvation Army's Distribution Center, Thursday night, December 11th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.  The Valley Bank volunteers helped with lots of projects from sorting toys, to decorating the Distribution Center with candy cane poles, giant snowflakes, snowmen and holiday trees. All of this, in preparation for The Salvation Army Open House,  Monday, December 16th and the opening of the store for the Angel Tree recipents.
